A Song of Vermeland is a well known Swedish folk song arranged by Grainger in an unusually emotional setting for chorus. My arrangement for SATBBs saxophone ensemble is based on this choral arrangement and attempts to extend Grainger's interest and tradition of saxophone writing to some of his less known but no less beautiful and powerful works.

It is my hope that Grainger's vibrancy and brilliance of writing is maintained in my adaptation, and that players will imbue the music with the spirit and enjoyment for which Grainger was known.
